About

Meet Cathy

Cathy Jewell, owner of Mindful Movement, LLC, has been teaching fitness and movement-based classes, small groups and individualized sessions for over 20 years. Her studio is an inclusive environment that helps individuals connect function, movement and mindfulness.

Cathy is certified through STOTT PILATES® in Reformer and Matwork and has completed their Stability and Injuries and Special Populations courses.  She is a registered yoga instructor, teaches Tai Chi for Balance, and is a certified group exercise instructor and personal trainer. 

Cathy holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in Health Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  She brings a comprehensive health and fitness background to her style of teaching. In her free time, Cathy likes playing volleyball, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and dog.

A Welcoming Community

Cathy’s mission is to help clients approach activity with curiosity and discover joy in the connection of mind and body. She partners with each of her clients to find activities they find enjoyable and empowering. Her philosophy blends mindfulness and functional training—teaching individuals to perform their day-to-day activities with more ease and without injuries through practices like, Pilates, yoga, Tai Chi, TRX, and myofascial release.

Studio Setup

The Mindful Movement studio offers high-quality Pilates equipment and yoga accessories to support classes and individual sessions. The studio space is equipped with four V2 Max Plus Reformers, one Rack’n Roll Reformer, one Stability Chair, as well as other Pilates accessories and yoga props.

Policies and Procedures

Studio Policies

Socks or gripper socks are required for all classes.

Outside shoes need to be taken off prior to entering the studio.   Inside shoes only are allowed with approval.

Please do not wear clothing with zippers or fasteners that will catch or scratch the mats or equipment.

As a courtesy to all participants, cell phones should be turned off or set to silent to minimize disruptions.

Clients have the right to refuse or stop any exercise for whatever reason.

 

New Clients

All clients must fill out a Waiver and Release of liability form, as well as an additional Doctor’s consent form if requested.

Clients agree to make a commitment to follow programs and instructions.

All new Pilates students at Mindful Movement will need to begin with an introductory package.  This is to introduce you to the Stott Pilates® basic principles, exercises and equipment to best develop an individualized program to meet your needs.

 

Scheduling and Cancellations

Mindful Movement reserves the right to cancel a class 24 hours in advance with less than 3 people.

Classes must have a minimum of 2 participants. When one client is signed up for a class that class will be canceled due to low attendance.  The client has the choice to upgrade to a private session by using 2 class sessions or they may cancel their reservation without penalty.

Classes and sessions are run on a first come first serve basis, by reservation only.

8 hour notice of cancellation is required of your session or class or you will be charged for the full session.

You will be charged for the session/class if you do not cancel or show.

All sessions/classes will be paid in full prior to or at the time of the session/class.

There shall be no refunds.  Classes and sessions may be transferred to another person with prior approval.
